Appearance

All Beetle species composed of a head, winged thorax and 6 legs

Behaviour

Behaviour varies greatly between species.
Biscuit beetles are attracted to light and often found on window sills,.
Carpet beetles larvae look for shelter and warmth and can be found on the carpet edges below the heaters.

Infestation

Adults Beetles have mouth parts that allow them to feed. However they will have a rather short lifespan that will mostly serve the purpose of mating.

The larvae will tend to live much longer and feed voraciously on natural fibres causing most of the damages.

Our beetle treatment

The chemicals and tools involved in treating for Beetles varies little for different species. What matters is where and what to spray.

Larder beetles would be linked to the dry food being stored in the cupboards. We would need first to get rid of beetles infested items. Here the treatment would mostly be carried out at kitchen cupboard level.

Carpet beetles would be mostly linked to carpeted rooms. and for good measure, we would also spray all the floors of communal areas regardless of if they are carpeted or not. We would also fumigate to reach into every corners and crevices.
