Moths

Moths Control London

Moth treatment

To get rid of moths in London requires a thorough and proper pest control method to be put in place. The most common species are the common clothes moth (natural fibres) and the Indianmeal moths (dry food).

About moths

Moths appearance

  • The common clothes moth is quite small and discreet. They do fly and often rest on the top of the walls and on the folds of garments.
  • The common clothes moth' larvae start microscopic in size and grow as they develop. They can be seen moving in carpeted area that are not walked on and behind the edges of the carpet.
  • Food moth larvae can be significantly larger and can sometime be seen crawling on ceiling.

Behaviour

Common clothes moths often seek darkness. They can even spend their entire lifespan without taking a flight that makes infestations even harder to notice.

After mating, the females will look for something appropriate on which to lay their eggs.

The larvae will cause most of the damage then form a cocoon producing insect silk that can easily be spotted on the surface of garments, or within powdery food stuff such as flour.

Infestation

Moths could be introduced within our homes with an infested item through our daily shopping. Otherwise they may simply fly in through the door from the communal areas/landing or simply come from outdoors.

Once inside the building they will start building up in areas that are often found at the back of furniture, or in dark corners.

Our moths treatment

Thoroughness is key as we do not want to leave being any moths that could start a new round of infestation.

For that purpose we will treat throughout the property with residual insecticides, but also use moth bombs to leave them no corner to hide.

As standard we will carry out 3 visits at 2 weeks interval that will cover in excess the length of their life cycle.

Basically they stand no chances.
